American Standard Precision
Fender bass question?
Whats the difference between a fender standard precision bass and an AMERICAN standard precision bass? I understand that there is an obvious price difference.

The Mexican one is made with decent materials and is still a great bass for the price. Replacing the parts (mainly the pickups) is a good investment because it will bring it to its full potential for a relatively low price.
The American Standard is made with premium quality materials and gets amazing tone and sustain. Also, obviously, it's made in America and costs more money to make because American workers have higher wages than Mexican ones. The basses are setup nicer out of the factories and will be playable right out of the box.
