How to use a capo - acoustic guitar?
Want to use a capo to change keys more easily I our church services.
if someone could tell me if I play in C what it changes to if I put capo on 1st,2nd,and 3rd frets
also the same for playing in D and G if someone could help I appreciate it!
take the sound of {c}, {a} string corded at third fret. that note will become the first note, of the {beginning} of the sound of {a} chord. with capo on third fret your chords will be a- d- e, to play in {c}. to play in {d} place capo on fifth fret, can still play in {a} a-d-e--.. ,to play in {g} leave capo on fifth fret and play in {d}.. d-g-a== with this, you should be able to figure out most any other you want. i have been playing for 50 plus years, but this is hard to explain. i use capo more than any other musician that i know of. it just becomes kind of second nature, after you play in different chords for a while. i hope this is at least as clear as muddy water, but is my best shot. there are many variations of where to place the capo, after a while you will learn by the sounds. written music to me looks like you dipped your fingers into a bowl of ink, and sling it onto the paper. i play totally by ear. i used to play keyboard by ear, but it really hurt the side of my head.HA. i learned to play the piano, at age 16, on wednesday, i sat down to a piano and made sounds, turned them into chords, that saturday my mother bought me a piano,and that sunday i played in church. i have been very blessed with music. my two children can play just about anything they take a notion to. just bragging a little, but my family were all, a band. in 1982 we played an opening show for george strait in concert. very cool feeling. may god bless you and keep you and yours.
