Squier Eric Clapton "Blackie" signature guitar replica?
I have a Eric Clapton signature Strat and on the headstock it says Squier bullet series. The guitar was given to me by my grandfather who past away years ago and i never got the chance to ask him about it. I looked online to see how much it was worth but with no intention of selling it. But to my surprise i did not see any guitars that match the description of a Squier Eric Clapton "Blackie" Stratocaster. Is my guitar a REAL Fender Eric Clapton Strat that had the headstock replaced or is it just a Squier made replica?
Sorry i meant to put neck not headstock.
The guitar isn't signed or any thing but on the back of the neck on a metal piece it says "Eric Clapton "Blackie" Signature Series" and it has noiseless pickups which were his pickups of choice.
And i also noticed was the neck is not the same type of wood as his other guitars.
I'm not saying this is his actual guitar but a replica made by Fender which i have seen for about $1,600 on www.musiciansfriend.com.
Well, they don't replace headstocks. They do replace necks, but Squier is a cheaper version of Fender. I believe your guitar cost around $279 when it was new. The Bullet series of Fender Squier currently go for $119 new. Your guitar cost a little more mainly because of where it says Eric Clapton on the headstock. Thats about it. Squiers are known guitars for having poor craftsmanship and sub par parts. Your guitar may fetch around $150 on Ebay if its in good condition, give or take $50. Unfortunately, it will not gain value over time as a collectors item. The MIA Eric Clapton strats would.

Born illegitimate in 1945 and raised by his grandparents, Eric never knew his father and, until the age of nine, believed his actual mother to be his sister. In his early teens his solace was the guitar, and his incredible talent would make him a cult hero in the clubs of Britain and inspire devoted fans to scrawl “Clapton is God” on the walls of London’s Underground. With the formation of Cream, the world's first supergroup, he became a worldwide superstar, but conflicting personalities tore the band apart within two years. His stints in Blind Faith, in Delaney and Bonnie and Friends, and in Derek and the Dominos were also short-lived but yielded some of the most enduring songs in history, including the classic “Layla.” During the late sixties he played as a guest with Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan, as well as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and longtime friend George Harrison.
