what is power cord/extension cord amp do?
i have a extension cord, about 50 ft with 10A, 125V and 1250watt. what does 10A mean?
does 1250 watt mean max watt?
how do i know whats the gauge is?
is it a good thing to use this cord to connect to a power strip for a PC? or use a shorter cord? like 15ft with 14 gauge, 13amp?
The "normal" usage rating for the cord are it's maxes. 10 Amps at 125 Volts and it's working wattage (Volts times Amps) is the product of the 125 and 10 or 1250 watts. That is kinda overkill if you can get away with a much shorter cord, but presents no electronical problems.
