Dunlop Tortex Pitch
Can't decide how to hold guitar pick?
I've been playing guitar for about 2-3 years, but I am quite good. But I can't seem to decide how to hold my pick. I keep on switching between holding it with my index finger and my thumb, and that way I can play tremolo picking way faster. The downside of this way is that I get tired easier, and I couldn't dream on playing a song like Master of Puppets like that.
The second way that I use, is to hold it with my index finger and my thumb, but this time resting my middle finger on the pick. I know that this seems strange but I get a lot more power when I hold it like that, and I don't get tired in my arm from rapid down strokes. The only problem with this is that I can't tremolo pick as fast on the lower strings. I am wondering, which way is best, and is it something wrong with playing with three finger(and will it be bad when I get better at playing)? I use a Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black 1.14 mm pick if that is of any help. Please answer 
You should hold the pick in a way where you are comfortable and have full control over the dynamics and timbre of your playing.
Exactly how that will be is different for everyone, as everyone has different hands. If you're comfortable and the technique is not inhibiting you in any way, then there's nothing wrong with it.
