Electric Acoustic Bass
electric/acoustic/bass guitar?
i'm a 13 year old girl and i wanna learn how to play either one of those guitars
i know how to play piano pretty well
does anyone have any tips on which guitar would suit me most?
and which one is easiest/hardest?
thanks!
and also how long would it take to learn the basics and to get to a "decent" level of understanding?
and would a tutor be necessary?

start on a standard acoustic guitar. The strings are a little larger than an electric guitar and will build callouses and strength faster than an electric guitar. An electric guitar is more of a precision instrument and, as such, requires more skill and dexterity to master. Just like you don't give a small child a small toy, you give them a larger toy to build up co-ordination and dexterity. The same applies to guitar. The bass is more difficult to play than the guitar because it has much larger strings and a longer neck with wider frets requiring more strength overall to become proficient. The acoustic guitar is the in between to both of these other instruments. Also, an acoustic guitar does not need an amplifier as the other two do. Anyone who plays any kind of guitar should be able to play an acoustic guitar too!
I also suggest getting a good instructor to get you started!
