Electric guitar harder to learn than an Acoustic guitar?
I wanted to learn how to play guitar, any recommendations on which type of guitar to start with?
The electric is easier as the action is lower and the strings are smaller. Now here's the my sale for the acoustic guitar. One is they sound really nice and are portable. You can practice anywhere without having to drag a amp and needing electricity. Also acoustic guitars can be less expensive than a electric setup. If after a few months of learning and practice you decide the guitar is not for you, your not out as much money.
This is what I did.
1. Bought a cheap acoustic guitar.
2. Had the action setup by a guitar tech at the local music store.
3. Started taking lessons.
4. After a few months of practice decided that it was still fun.
5. Research electric guitars and amps.
6. Bought a electric and amp.
7. Still practice with my acoustic when I want to move to other places to play. Patio, Living room, Kitchen counter, etc...
