Guitar players and nirvana fans (yes again!)?
firstly which is better an Electro-Harmonix Small clone or an Electro-Harmonix Polychorus (ignoring the price)
And does anyone know Kurt Cobain(or anyone else's) feedback technique?

look. You can get a guitar identical to KC. An amp identical to KC. Effects pedals identical to KC. Set it all up exactly as KC had it. YOU WILL NOT SOUND LIKE KC. At best you will sound like somebody trying to sound like KC.
You need to practice and learn how to get different sounds out of the equipment that you have. Then try out various guitars, amps pedals etc, and see what sounds YOU can get out of them. Buy the ones that give you what you want.
That way you can find a way for you to sound like KC, or anyone else. Hopefully along the way you will find a style of your own.
To get feedback you need to get the sound from your amp to vibrate the strings on your guitar. Face the amp when playing and turn up the volume until the feedback starts. Practice and experience is the way to learn how to control the feedback.
