Finger Pick
Where could I learn to finger pick on guitar?
I've been playing acoustic guitar for quite a while now, yet I've never learned to finger pick. A lot of the music that I want to get into playing requires finger picking, and I would like to know where I can find out about finger picking techniques, and possibly some songs for beginning finger pickers. Thanks in advance.
Beginning of finger picking technique is easy, mastering is what's so hard about it.
Aggregio picking is one of the most known finger picking techniques, and the best way is to do it by simply playing:
Bass string - G string - B string - E string
Like - if you want to finger pick a C chord, it would be:
E|-------0-----------0------------)
B|-----1--1-------1---1----------))
G|---0------0---0------0---------)))>and so on...
D|----------------------------------)))
A|-3-----------3----------3-------))
E|----------------------------------)
The important thing to remember is to pluck the bass strings with your thumb, not with other fingers, unless it is totally necessary.
When you get that kind of finger picking, you can proceed and pluck 2 or 3 strings at the same time, like:
Bass string - G string - B + E string together
Again, an example with a C chord, or actualy, let's try a G chord now:

B|-----0----------0----------------))
G|---0--0------0--0--------------)))>and so on...
D|----------------------------------)))
A|----------------------------------))
E|--3----------3---------3--------)
The thing is you need to experiment, try some other patterns, and it will all come to the place after some time.
I don't think you need a professor to show you how to finger pick, you just need a little bit of exercise.
