Would an Epiphone Dove be a good guitar to purchase?
I am an intermediate guitarist; I play a lot of Beatles songs, and other pop rock/alternative songs. My first guitar was an Ibanez that cost me 100 $ w/ a free gig bag, tuner, picks and strap - I know what you're thinking - the guitar sounds cheap 'cause it's 100 $ and for all the free stuff it came with... well I agree, it is a 'bit cheap, but a great guitar for a beginer, but I'm not a beginner anymore - I'm an intermediate. I want a good guitar that sounds good and is good for an intermediate, and that I'll never get tired of it. I want a guitar that will sound a lot like a Beatles guitar. I want a 300 $ (Epiphone Dove) guitar that is good for performing and that is way better than the 100 $ Ibanez I have. Would an Epiphone Dove grant my demands? Is it worth it? Please answer and tell me what you think. Thanks.
The Dove is the generic version of the Hummingbird. Absolutely a good choice, but why box yourself in? Why not get a semi-hollow electric along the lines of the Sheraton or Casino that the Beatles used almost exclusively. This way, you could have something decent whether unplugged or plugged in.
