Guitar players, help finding guitar strings?
I am looking for a 6-string set of 10's (10 - 13 - 17 - 26 - 36 - 46). I want a little bit more width to them, though, but I don't think my Fender Starcaster could take anything over 48 on the low E (and I don't want to find out).

These are 2 examples I have found, despite not having a colored coating (which I happen to be partial to). The 3 bass strings on this are the same but will the 3 lighter strings make any difference? I can't really buy both and try them out since I only own 1 guitar. Thanks for any help and assistance.
The d'Addario brand is good, one of the better.
However, one of the sets: http://www.guitarcenter.com/D-Addario-ECG23-Chrome-Extra-Light-Environmental-Electric-Guitar-Strings-100185028-i1322832.gc is flat-wound. These types of strings are mainly used by jazz players and some old-style rockabilly. Most players use regular round-wound sets.
The 105 to 48 is a good, balanced set of strings. If it fits your needs is another matter all together.
One thing you might consider (if you don't find one perfect set) is to compose your own set. Most well stocked stores will allow you to buy strings one-on-one. In effect you can take single strings and go up and down in gauges as you please. You will have to use the same brand for all strings of course.
The only side effect is that you will have to pay more with this solution than a standard set of strings. If you can't find it in a shop, they have single strings here (as well as other places online): http://www.juststrings.com/guitarsinglestrings.html
I'm afraid you'll have to do some testing before you find the best solution for your playing style and need. Various guitars respond differently too.
Slightly lighter or heavier strings will not make any difference to your guitar. You may perhaps have to adjust the intonation and neck truss rod slightly. That's all common and no big deal.
