Can I install a EMG 81 bridge pickup without replacing my neck pickup?
I have a 1966 ltd. ed. Epiphone g400 and i want to replace my bridge position Alcino pickup with an EMG 81-x but i don't want to pay to replace my unused neck pickup. If I install the EMG without replacing my neck pickup will it make a difference? Or would that be OK?
How much would i have to pay for instillation?
Yeah, you dont have to touch your neck pickup. But since the 81 is an active pickup, and your axe is passive, i suggest getting a professional to do it. since he'll be working with a preamp, i suggest prepare to pay a pretty price for the procedure.
