Deciding To Change Out Or Alternatively Keep The Xerox Phaser 4500 Printer
Printers, like computers, come and go with the times. But unlike computers, printers don't change by all that much. They did go from line by line printing to progressive printing and from a series of connected dots to a solid color image, but these days it's simply a matter of a little faster or holding a bit more paper. As such, it might or might not be worthwhile to change out your Xerox Phaser 4500 printer, especially as the Phaser 4500 toners meets the needs of the most demanding of professionals.
This particular printer is a monochromatic printer, black text, no color. It's a laser jet printer as well, so it prints rather quickly as far as printing goes. It's a great machine if what you care about is making a hundred copies of your resume, or if you're printing off reports or something of that nature. If you are looking to print photos and portfolio-grade images, then it is not the model you need in your office.
What that means for a potential buyer is that you can't get a new one. You can still get it used online or at some kind of electronics pawn shop though. But if you were planning on getting a new printer anyway, then a newer model would be better as their price is practically the same.
This model was made obsolete because it was replaced by the 4510 and 5550 models, both of which are office printers (monochromatic laser jets). They're basically exactly the same as the 4500 except that they might print a little faster or hold more information or Xerox Phaser ink and toner . Add in the fact that their price isn't that much different, if at all, and it might make getting a new one a better idea after all.
If you don't want to make a complete switch, there are various offers for upgrading. Depending on how much you want to spend, you can have this particular model upgraded to have all sorts of things, from faster printing, to more efficient ink, to a bigger hard drive to hold a higher queue for printing. These are minor upgrades, so if you only want a few things, this might be cheaper. Or, it might be cheaper to get a new one in the end.
Making the switch is easy enough, however, as most places offer a trade-in policy. If you are trading in an older model printer (such as this one), then you can trade it in for a discount towards the purchase of a newer model. The only issue is that there isn't really a promise that the money you get from your traded printer will be all that much.
If you're worried that your model may be too old to be worth anything anymore, don't be. So long as it's a printer, they can use it in some way to make your transition easier, even if your printer doesn't have a listed resale price. You'd have to see the retailer for details. But if you're going to be throwing out the old printer anyway, you mine as well get something for it, right?
Maybe you only need something basic, like the Xerox Phaser 4500 printer, so shopping for used versions might be best. Maybe you're considering trading one in for a newer model, but aren't sure if the transition is worth it. It comes down to each person's basic printing needs. Offices aren't usually picky, so long as the printer works. Chances are, it will get the job done just as any other printer would.
Fortunately, this is such a reliable machine, there are many who continue to use it and therefore need replacement Xerox 4500 compatible toners. If you have trouble finding this type of Xerox replacement toner at local bulk toner cartridges retailers, search online for merchants who offer Xerox Phaser 4500 printer.
