Pins White
complimentary colors in physics?
In class we learned about complimentary colors: red, blue, and green.
If a green and blue light are being shined on a red bowling pin...what color will the pin turn?
If there is a white screen behind the pin, what color will the screen turn?
a. bowling pin: black, screen: cyan
b. bowling pin: white, screen: blue
c. bowling pin: white, sceen: green
can anyone help?? thanks!
a. bowling pin: black, screen: cyan
the red ball reflects only red (no blue, no green) and absorbs blue and green so it is black because it reflects nothing
the white screen reflects both blue and green which makes cyan
light is additive and the primary colors of light are RGB
pigments are subtractive and primary pigments (absorb only one color of light) are cyan, magenta and yellow (CMY) , which, of course, are the compliments of the primary light colors
it gets a bit confusing but take a deep breath and then figure what is happening to the available light
what's left is what you can see
