Airplane Flight With a Guitar - Luggage or Carry On?
I am taking a guitar with me on a plane trip from New York to Dallas. Can I carry it on the plane in a soft gig bag or do I need to check it in as baggage with a road case?
I've seen people on other flights hand their gig bags to the stewards who stowed it up front. Is there a way I can guarantee that for me? I'd hate to carry the big road case, but I don't want to get stuck with only a gig bag if I'm forced to check it in.
They won't let you carry on a guitar anymore. I suppose it couldn't hurt to ask the airline ahead, but I wouldn't bank on it.
