How much is a Grimshaw Short Scale Bass Deluxe worth?
As I had previously mentioned, since the Grimshaw's are not sought after as collectibles, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It obviously has the value of a decent arch top bass guitar, providing it is structurally sound. In short, don't give it away, but don't think you are sitting on a pile of sovereigns. Grimshaw's are not highly sought after by collectors, but could bring you a fair return from someone who knows what they are buying, as they are better quality than some of the similar basses of that era that are collectible.
Again, it's worth what someone is willing to pay. You can keep asking this question on Yahoo over and over, but this is the only answer you're going to get. If you talk to some reputable luthiers in big cities such as London, Birmingham, Leeds, Aberdeen, etc, that have a big music scene, you might come across one who knows someone that is looking for one of these, and be more apt to get a fair price for it.
This is not a Gibson, Fender, Harmony, Gretsch, Hofner, Vox or one of the other well known makers of 60's guitars that were very visible with the artists popular then and since become collectible. One person might not be willing to give you more than 50 pound for it, while another might recognize the quality of the Grimshaw and be willing to pay two or three hundred pound for it. I doubt you'd realistically ever get more than that for it, as it is simply not a sought after name in bass guitars, despite it's quality.
Here's some food for thought. Bass players are in much more demand than guitar players. Why don't you learn to play it. You may find that to be far more rewarding than selling your attic find to the highest bidder.

Progress in Scale Modeling $189 This book is a selection of seminal papers given at the past International Symposia on Scale Modeling (ISSM). The International Scale Modeling Committee consisting of active worldwide researchers in scale modeling celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2008. The Committee is interdisciplinary, attracting researchers from a broad range of scientific and engineering disciplines. Scale modeling is a simplifying and clarifying tool used by scientists and engineers in many disciplines to help them grasp essential or salient aspects of bewilderingly complex systems, mechanisms and phenomena -- to see the forest when there are many trees. Scale modeling techniques are also used when it would be too expensive or too difficult to test the system of interest.
