Size Steel String
What is the best brand & size steel string for a beginner electric guitar player?
I heard Ernie Ball .08 is good, any others?
I prefer Elixir strings because they hold their tone longer than other strings and because they have less string/fret noise than others, which would be a plus for beginners. Just get light gauge strings; for a new player, that would be the best place to start. Most guitar strings are sold as extra light, light, medium, heavy, etc. You can experiment with different gauges as you get more experience. Find out what works best for you. But I would still start with light. That's the standard. Have fun!
