Solid Top
Should I get a solid-top or laminate for a beginning guitar?
I'm looking at buying my first guitar, and have basically come down to either an Ibanez IJV100SNT or IJV50 because, for my price range, they seem pretty decent. The main differences between the two seem to be that the 100 has a solid top while the 50 is a laminate and about $70.
I guess my question is: As someone who hasn't played guitar yet, is the $70 worth getting the solid top? Considering I'm on the low end of the price range, would I even notice much of a difference between the two? Any reasons to go for one or the other?

If you know of any other good guitars in the price range, I'd be glad to hear about them. ($150 or less, the IJV100SNT is actually a little out of my price range, but I'm considering it if it will sound noticeably better.)
A solid top guitar will sound better than a laminate top. The $70 difference would be well worth it. A solid top guitar's sound generally improves with age and playing.
