fender squire trouble

okay, i have had this fender squire strat for a while and noticed that the string's were getting pretty bad, so i decided to change them, well after i changed the string's i noticed that the sounded nothing like the other's i had put on... the string's are steel electric guitar strings but i seem to be getting this kind of rattling sound when i pick my strings, it only gets worse when i let them ring out.... i've tryed taking them out and putting them back but just can't figure out whats wrong and its really starting to piss me off, and idea's on what i could do to fix this?
Hi! You may have selected a lighter gauge of string than what was on the guitar previously. This would put less tension on the neck, causing it to bow upwards towards the strings; in addition, the bridge would have rested lower to the body, further accenting the problem. Reinstall the strings, and adjust the truss rod to get the neck either completely straight or with a very slight relief (for details, see http://www.fender.com/support/stratocaster.php ). Next, adjust the bridge so it is between 1/16 and 1/8-inch off the body surface (see http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuhsVuaYvF9K13bVz7obnpvty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090613113503AAb4hi5 for one adjustment method). Finally, raise or lower the saddles to suit your playing style, and eliminate any rattling that is audible through the amplifier. Best regards, Dana
