The S7420 - The Lightweight 7-String Electric From Ibanez
The Ibanez S7420 7-string electric guitar combines the iconic look and feel of an Ibanez S Series guitar with impressive resonance. The Ibanez S7420 features a lightweight, slimline carved mahogany body; the innovative Zero Resistance Tremolo; a 24-fret Wizard II neck; and seven strings that allows players to utilise all that seven strings can offer. Ibanez are famous for producing guitars with beautifully sleek contours and the big sounding S7420 is no exception.
Ibanez S Series guitars are manufactured using top-of-the-line components and constructed by expert Japanese craftsman. The Ibanez S 7420 has a super-thin mahogany body that is light on weight to allow you to move around with ease. The S7420 produces the resonance of a much larger guitar due to an intelligently designed and manufactured mahogany body. The S7420 features Hot Grinder pickups for extra volume and a short tracer pickup to capture the most nuanced of sounds. The S7420’s 3-piece Wizard II-7 Maple neck is thin and silky smooth to allow for awesome speed and playability. Being a seven string guitar also opens you up to a range of playing styles as exhibited by such various artists as Steve Vai, Korn, Metallica and Matthew Bellamy from Muse.
Featured on the S7420 and exclusive to Ibanez S Series guitars is the innovative ZR tremolo. Zero Resistance technology (ZR), aims to provide greater tuning stability by replacing standard knife-edge pivots with a ball-bearing based pivot joint.
This precise system stabilises the bridge and ensures the highest level of tuning stability by consistently returning the tremolo to the centre point, or zero point.
