Strings Custom Light
What type of guitar strings should i buy?
I have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and an Ibanez FireTop Acoustic Electric that both need string changes. I remember buying strings for an older guitar of mine and I recall the guy saying that certain guitars need certain thicknesses of strings (custom light, light, medium, heavy.
I'm looking online for strings, which string thickness (gauges) should I get? Mostly I see lights, are those the ones I should be buying?
Heres some variety suggestions:
Metal guitar playing w/ active EMG pickups- Ernie Ball Regular Slinky
Metal guitar playing w/ passive pickups- Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom
Rock- .10-.46
Jazz- .9----
Really go by what type of music you play, and what kind of pickups you have. Remember, for ACTIVE pickups, go for Standards, for PASSIVE, I'd go with Skinny Top Heavy bottoms (.10-.52). These are preferably for Metal and Rock guitar playing genres.
