what electric guitar or pickups would sound good and give clean warm tone for distortion pedals?

i have a schecter hellraiser floyd rose with EMG humbuckers. Everytime i use my metal zone with my tube overdrive pedal, it gives this nasty muddy sound and i want to hear that clean warm distortion tone. Can anyone tell me what pickups or guitar would give me that clean warm distortion tone.

You have EMG Humbuckers? If you have active EMG's 81/85, then you already have the idea humbuckers for metal. Its not going to get much better than that! If you have EMG HZ's, then they are pretty good. But you should still get a terrific sound out of any EMG's other than the selects, but I don't think your guitar came with those pickups in them.
Are you using 2 pedals at once? Metal Zone and tube overdrive? Thats a problem. Your best tone should be in the bridge pickup with the tone control off. That should be bright and clear. Really, tweak or pedal and/or amp if you are just using one pedal, because your issue is not the pickups.
