How do I adjust the intonation on my vintage Harmony guitar?
There are no fine tuners, just two screws to raise the bridge on the High E and Low E sides. I am getting insane amounts of buzz, and when I can manage to get the buzz to go away *even a little*, the intonation is terrible. The neck has just been shimmed, and a new zero fret has been installed. What do I do? I love this guitar, and I'm desperate.
Hello there,
To adjust the intonation you have to adjust the string length; that is usually done by moving the bridge towards the neck or away from the neck (whichever is needed). I am not sure that you can move the bridge any on an older Harmony. As I recall the bridge is permanently glued to the body. If the bridge is movable, you can adjust the intonation.
